ENVIRONMENT CANADA AT 12:27 PM AST SUNDAY 3 JANUARY 2010.
AN INTENSE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM TRACKED JUST WEST OF HALIFAX LAST
NIGHT AND IS NOW WEAKENING IN THE GULF OF MAINE. THIS SYSTEM BROUGHT
HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW AS WELL AS STRONG EASTERLY WINDS. REPORTS
OF COASTAL FLOODING WERE ALSO RECEIVED FROM SOUTHEASTERN REGIONS FROM
SHEDIAC TO PORT ELGIN.
UNOFFICIAL SNOWFALL AND WIND INFORMATION RECORDED AT STATIONS
ACROSS NOVA SCOTIA AS OF 8:00 AM AST SUNDAY.

NIGHT AND IS NOW WEAKENING IN THE GULF OF MAINE. THIS SYSTEM BROUGHT
HEAVY SNOW ESPECIALLY FOR WESTERN SECTIONS OF THE PROVINCE. EASTERN
SECTIONS RECEIVED SOME SNOWFALL AS WELL AS STRONG EASTERLY WINDS.
REPORTS OF COASTAL FLOODING WERE ALSO RECEIVED FROM THE CLARKES
HABOUR AREA OF SHELBURNE COUNTY AND ALONG THE DOWNTOWN HALIFAX
WATERFRONT.

AN INTENSE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM TRACKED JUST WEST OF HALIFAX LAST
NIGHT AND IS NOW WEAKENING IN THE GULF OF MAINE. STRONG NORTHEASTERLY
WINDS ACCOMPANIED THIS SYSTEM WITH ONLY SMALL ACCUMULATIONS OF
SNOW OCCURRING BEFORE THE CHANGEOVER TO RAIN.
A ROOF WAS BLOWN OFF A HOUSE IN THE COMMUNITY OF NORTHPORT AND
STORM SURGE CAUSING FLOODING WAS REPORTED ALONG THE NORTHUMBERLAND
STRAIT FROM SUMMERSIDE TO THE VICTORIA/CRAPAUD AREA.
