Snowfall warning for
Edmundston and Madawaska County continued

Additional snowfall amounts up to 20 centimetres are expected over these regions tonight before tapering off on Friday.

This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A complex low pressure system over the Gulf of Maine will slowly move eastward passing south of Nova Scotia tonight and Friday. Bands of heavy snow that have been occurring over westernmost regions of New Brunswick earlier today are expected to slowly pivot towards southeast regions of the province tonight as the low moves east. Along the Fundy coast the snow could still be mixed with rain this evening especially over Grand Manan Island where a rainfall warning remains in effect for the time being. As these bands of snow are intense and slow moving, a winter storm warning remains in effect for those areas which could see total snowfall amounts from this storm add up to near 30 centimetres by Friday morning. Periods of snow will taper off to flurries over most regions on Friday before another band of snow moves in from the northeast late Friday night.

The public is advised to monitor subsequent forecasts in the event additional warnings are required.
