Surprise Mid-October Southern Maritimes Rainstorm event summary

SPECIAL WEATHER SUMMARY MESSAGE FOR NOVA SCOTIA ISSUED BY ENVIRONMENT
CANADA AT 9:30 AM ADT THURSDAY 17 OCTOBER 2013.

HEAVY RAIN WAS REPORTED OVER MUCH OF NOVA SCOTIA LAST NIGHT AND
EARLY THIS MORNING AS A SLOW MOVING TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE
APPROACHED THE PROVINCE.  THE TROUGH IS CURRENTLY OVER EASTERN NOVA
SCOTIA AND IS FORECAST TO MOVE EAST OF THE PROVINCE THIS AFTERNOON. 
HEAVY RAIN IS STILL FALLING OVER EASTERN SECTIONS OF NOVA SCOTIA BUT 
IT IS EXPECTED TO TAPER OFF LATER THIS MORNING OR THIS AFTERNOON AS 
THE TROUGH MOVES AWAY.
