• Halifax County - east of Porters Lake

Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

Rain at times heavy giving 50 to 70 millimeters is expected to begin this evening and end Monday morning.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Rainfall Warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

Wind warning in effect for:

• Halifax County - east of Porters Lake

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Strong southerly winds gusting to 90 km/h are forecast to develop overnight and to diminish from the southwest near noon Monday.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

Special weather statement in effect for:

• Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick

Rainfall amounts could exceed 25 millimetres tonight.

An area of rain will spread across southern portions of the Maritimes tonight as a disturbance approaches from the south. The heavier rain is expected to start around midnight and taper off around dawn on Monday with amounts of 25 millimetres expected. However some of the computer guidance is suggesting the possibility of local amounts of 50 millimetres.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.
