Wind warning in effect for:
- Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County
An intensifying low pressure system over the Bay of Fundy will track northeastward to lie over the Gulf of St Lawrence this evening and over Newfoundland Saturday afternoon. Strong westerly winds gusting up to 100 km/h will develop in its wake early Saturday morning and then gradually diminish Saturday afternoon and evening as the low moves away.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.
Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
