Mid-October Storm, including possible tropical system interaction, Update Five
10:31 AM ADT Friday 21 October 2016
Rainfall warning in effect for:
Fredericton and Southern York County
Rain, at times heavy, is expected.
A heavy rainfall event is expected over parts of the Maritimes today and Saturday. However there is still some degree of uncertainty with respect to the
location of heaviest rain. Current guidance is suggesting general amounts 40 to 75 mm over New Brunswick. As is the case with most heavy rainfall
situations, the total amount of rain is not necessarily the problem, but rather the rate at which the rain falls.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to weatherASPC@ec.gc.ca or
