...An area of heavy snow will affect Washington...Hancock and
southern Penobscot Counties...

At 251 PM EST...An area of moderate to heavy snow was moving across
the Downeast region, including the greater Bangor area.

locations impacted include...
Bangor, Old Town, Ellsworth, Bucksport, Dexter, Newport, Calais,
Machias, Lubec, Eastport, Cherryfield, Orono, Brewer, Hampden,
Hermon, Corinth, Veazie, Dedham, Jonesport and Kenduskeag.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 95 between mile makers 161 and 208.
 US Highway 1 between Hancock and Princeton.
 State Highway 11 between Corinna and Bradford.
 State Highway 9 between Newburgh and Calais.

  * Winds in excess of 25 mph are possible with this area of heavy
  snow.

  * Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a half mile in this
  area of heavy snow.

  * Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are occurring in this
  area of heavy snow.

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be
prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra
time when traveling.
