Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Heavy rainfall and strong winds likely on Monday.
A low pressure system will track across the Maritimes on Monday spreading rain, at times heavy, across the province. This could lead to localised flooding in flood prone areas. Rainfall amounts in excess of 25 millimetres are possible and therefore rainfall warnings may be required for some regions. Southerly winds associated with this storm could possibly reach gusts of up to 90 km/h for some regions along the Atlantic coast on Monday.

Rainfall warning in effect for:
Fredericton and Southern York County
Rain, heavy at times is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.
A low pressure system near the Great Lakes region Sunday morning will move northeastward and cross New Brunswick Monday morning to lie in the Gulf of St. Lawrence Monday afternoon.
A significant rainfall event is forecast for these areas of New Brunswick Sunday night and Monday morning.
Periods of snow will begin Sunday morning and then change to rain later in the day. Light rain Sunday evening is expected to become heavy at times later Sunday night and then persist into Monday afternoon. Rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 millimetres are expected by dawn Monday morning. However, significantly more rainfall is expected later Monday morning before tapering to showers. In addition, very mild temperatures will cause rapid snowmelt.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

Snowfall warning in effect for:
Mount Carleton - Renous Highway
Snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.
A low pressure system near the Great Lakes region Sunday morning will move northeastward and cross New Brunswick Monday morning to lie in the Gulf of St. Lawrence Monday afternoon.
Periods of snow will begin Sunday morning across New Brunswick. Over northwestern New Brunswick, snow is forecast to become heavy at times and persist into Sunday night. Snowfall amounts are expected to be in the 15 to 20 centimetre range.
A changeover to rain is expected over most areas overnight Sunday night. However, a change back to snow is likely Monday morning before ending later Monday.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

A low pressure system near the Great Lakes region Sunday morning will move northeastward and cross New Brunswick Monday morning to lie in the Gulf of St. Lawrence Monday afternoon.
Snow will begin Sunday morning over New Brunswick and change to rain later in the day. Rain will persist Sunday night and into Monday. There is the potential for significant rainfall amounts before the rain ends by Monday evening. In addition, very mild temperatures will cause rapid snowmelt. This could lead to localized flooding in flood prone areas.
The public is advised to monitor future forecasts as rainfall warnings may be required.
