...Strong winds tonight into Saturday morning...

.Gusty south to southwest winds will occur tonight in advance of
an approaching cold front. Winds will gust as high as 45 mph, with
locally higher gusts across the higher terrain. Winds will shift
to the northwest around dawn Saturday and continue to be gusty
through Saturday morning.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EDT SATURDAY...

* WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* TIMING...Tonight into early Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
  limbs could be blown down and scattered power outages may
  result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that wind gusts in excess of 45 mph are
expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult and cause
power outages.

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Queens County P.E.I.
Windy and rainy start to the first day of fall...

An intense early-fall storm will cross central Quebec into Labrador on Saturday bringing rain and strong south to southwesterly winds to Prince Edward Island tonight into Saturday morning. At this time, winds are expected to remain below warning criteria, but gusts may reach near 80 km/h, especially in the early morning hours on Saturday.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts in the event wind warnings are required.

Wind warning in effect for:

Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Strong southwesterly winds will develop tonight. General gusts to 70 km/h are expected but gusts up to 90 km/h are possible over exposed areas along the Tantramar Marsh area overnight and early Saturday morning. Winds will shift to northwesterly and diminish somewhat Saturday morning but will remain gusty for the remainder of the morning.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

Windy and rainy start to the first day of fall...

An intense early-fall storm will cross central Quebec into Labrador on Saturday bringing rain and strong south to southwesterly winds to Nova Scotia beginning overnight tonight into Saturday morning. At this time, winds are expected to remain below warning criteria for most of the province, but gusts may reach 70 to 80 kilometres per hour, especially along parts of the coast. A wind warning is in effect for the Tantramar Marsh area where southwesterly winds are expected to gust up to 90 km/h overnight into early Saturday morning.
