Freezing rain warning in effect for:
Woodstock and Carleton County
Freezing rain is expected or occurring.
A mix of snow, freezing rain and rain expected for this weekend.
A low pressure system approaching from the southwest will bring messy weather to New Brunswick beginning Saturday night. Precipitation is expected to start off as a mix of snow and ice pellets in central New Brunswick late Saturday evening and then transition to freezing rain after midnight. Freezing rain could persist for several hours until Sunday morning before temperatures rise above the freezing mark.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
