...A PERIOD OF STRONG TO DAMAGING WESTERLY WINDS EXPECTED LATE
AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING...

.Low pressure is rapidly strengthening as it moves through Maine.
Strong westerly to southwesterly winds are developing in the wake
of this low from south to north. This is especially true as areas
break into some late day sunshine. Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph
will be common, with an hour or two period of 50 to 60 MPH gusts
possible. Winds of this strength will have the potential to down
trees and branches which will likely result in power outages.
Winds are expected to gradually diminish as the evening
progresses.

...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT THIS
EVENING...

* Winds...West winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are
  likely through the early evening. However, a one to two hour
  window of damaging wind gusts around 60 mph will be possible.

* Timing...Strong winds will develop across central and Midcoast
  Maine in the next couple of hours. The greatest risk for
  damaging wind gusts is early this evening. Winds are expected to
  diminish this evening.

* Impacts...Downed trees and power lines are likely. This will
  result in power outages. High profile vehicles may have
  difficulty driving, especially on bridges and overpasses.
  Loose objects will likely be tossed around.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST SUNDAY...

* WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.

* TIMING...Late this afternoon into early Sunday morning. The
  most likely timeframe for the highest wind speeds will be
  behind a strong cold front moving from west to east between 5
  pm this afternoon and 8 pm this evening.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
  lines. Numerous power outages may result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Rainfall warning in effect for:

Fredericton and Southern York County
Rain, at times heavy, continues.

Additional rainfall amounts of 5 to 15 mm are expected before the rain ends tonight.

Also, strong westerly winds are expected tonight and Sunday. Wind warnings are in effect along the Bay of Chaleur and Fundy coasts as well as the Tantramar Marsh area. Warnings may be expanded later to other areas.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

Wind warning in effect for:

Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Very strong westerly winds will develop in the south along the Fundy coast and Tantramar Marsh area this evening, and in the north along the Bay of Chaleur coast near midnight. Gusts up to 100 km/h are expected to persist into Sunday morning. Winds will diminish through the day on Sunday.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

Strong southwesterly winds gusting up to 90 to 100 km/h are expected tonight along much of the coast. These very strong winds will gradually diminish through the day on Sunday.

High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
