...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THURSDAY TO
4 AM EST SATURDAY...
* WHAT...Significant snow expected. Total snow accumulations of
12 to 20 inches, sleet accumulations of around one half to one
and one half inches in the Central Highlands, southern
Aroostook and the Upper Penobscot Valley and ice accumulations
of around two tenths of an inch expected along a Dover-
Foxcroft to Danforth line.
* WHERE...Portions of Central Highlands, Far Eastern and
Northern Maine, the North Woods and Penobscot Valley Maine.
* WHEN...From 10 AM Thursday to 4 AM EST Saturday. Expect 3 to 6
inches of snow to fall Thursday and Thursday night with 10 to
14 inches of snow Friday and Friday night.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult Thursday
and Thursday night and extremely dangerous on Friday. Patchy
blowing snow Friday could significantly reduce visibility and
cause localized hazardous travel.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet
and ice will make travel extremely dangerous.
