Winter Storm Harold Update One

Special weather statement in effect for:

Campbellton and eastern half of Restigouche County
Warm, wet and windy for Friday and Saturday followed by a shot of snow for Saturday night.

Total rainfall: 20-50 mm. Locally 60 mm possible.

Total snowfall: 5-10 cm and locally possibly exceeding 15 cm.

Maximum wind gusts: 70-90 km/h with the highest gusts along the Fundy coast, beginning Friday and tapering off late on Saturday.

Locations: Most of New Brunswick, except the extreme northwest and the southeast.

Time span: Light rain beginning on Friday, intensifying on Saturday, and moving east of the province late on Saturday. Snow starting late on Saturday and passing east of New Brunswick overnight into Sunday.

Remarks: A low pressure system approaching from the Great Lakes will bring rain to the province beginning on Friday and intensifying overnight into Saturday. Winds will intensify ahead of this system, especially along the Fundy Coast. Conditions will improve Saturday night.
