...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
SUNDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 7 to 15
  inches possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Central Highlands, Far Eastern, Far
  Northern and North Woods Maine.

* WHEN...From Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be extremely dangerous. Areas
  of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility and cause
  localized hazardous travel. Power outages are possible due to a
  combination of heavy wet snow and wind.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant
snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue
to monitor the latest forecasts.

Special weather statement in effect for:

Fredericton and Southern York County
Significant rainfall is expected on already saturated ground.

Total rainfall: 40 to 60 mm. Locally higher amounts possible.

Locations: southern New Brunswick.

Time span: Saturday evening until Monday morning.

Remarks: Rain is expected to begin Saturday and may become heavy, at times, over some areas overnight. There is still some uncertainty with the exact track of this developing low pressure system. Rain may become mixed at times with snow near Fredericton. Strong northeasterlies will also accompany the precipitation this weekend. Rainfall warnings may be issued on Friday afternoon. The rain will taper off by Monday.

Woodstock and Carleton County
Significant snowfall expected beginning Saturday evening.

Total snowfall: 20 to 30 cm.

Locations: central and northern New Brunswick.

Time span: Saturday through Monday morning.

Remarks: Snow and strong winds are expected to spread across parts of New Brunswick late on Saturday. There is still a fair amount of uncertainty on the exact track of this developing low pressure system. The snow may change briefly over to ice pellets or freezing rain over central parts of the province. Snowfall warnings may be issued as this system draws nearer.

Conditions will improve on Monday.
