Rain, at times heavy, is expected.
Total rainfall amount: 40 mm except 70 in areas of heaviest rain.
Locations: northwestern and most of central and southern New Brunswick.
Time span: continuing tonight, tapering off Monday afternoon.
Remarks: A trough of low pressure will continue to approach New Brunswick spreading rain across the province tonight and Monday. Because of the warm and humid air mass that is in place, embedded areas of torrential rain and thunderstorms are possible. Similar storms in the past have caused localized flooding in poor drainage areas.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to NBstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #NBStorm.
