Rain, at times heavy, is expected.
Locations: Halifax to Guysborough County and most of Cape Breton
Total rainfall: 50 to 60 mm
Time span: tonight and Thursday.
Similar storms in the past have caused:
- hazardous driving conditions from water pooling on roadways
- localized flooding, especially in poor drainage areas
- elevated water levels in creeks and streams
Remarks: Rainfall rates of 10 to 15 mm per hour may occur over some locations.
Conditions may change rapidly with locally intense downpours.
If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 5
inches for a storm total of 6 to 10 inches.
* WHERE...Central Piscataquis and Northern Penobscot Counties.
* WHEN...Until 6 PM EST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Wednesday evening commute.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel extremely dangerous. If you must travel,
keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of
an emergency.

Locations: Oromocto and Sunbury County, Fredericton and Southern York County, St. Stephen and Northern Charlotte County.
Time span: today, changing to rain this evening.
Remarks: A disturbance moving in from New England will give snow, heavy at times today before changing to rain this evening as temperatures rise above zero.
Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
