Excessive Heat Warnings Issued For The Maritimes, Expect For The Atlantic Coast Of Nova Scotia

Humidex values reaching 36 are expected.

An extended period of very warm and humid weather is expected.

Time span: Friday through Monday.

Maximum daytime temperatures: 28 to 29 degrees Celsius (Humidex 37), except cooler along parts of the coast.

Minimum overnight temperatures: 18 to 20 degrees Celsius.

Locations: northern Nova Scotia and the Annapolis Valley 

Remarks: A combination of very warm temperatures and elevated humidity will create very high humidex values over the next several days. The highest values are expected to occur over most areas on Friday. Temperatures are forecast to turn cooler over all areas Monday night.

Extreme heat can affect everyone’s health.

Check several times a day on older family, friends and neighbours. Make sure they are cool and drinking water.

Never leave people, particularly children, or pets inside a parked vehicle.

Minimum overnight temperatures: 16 to 18 degrees Celsius.

Locations: New Brunswick, not including the Fundy Coast.

Remarks: A combination of very warm temperatures and elevated humidity will create high humidex values over the next several days. Temperatures are forecast to turn cooler over northwestern counties Saturday night and over remaining regions Sunday night.

Maximum temperature Saturday: 28 degrees Celsius (Humidex 36).

Locations: Prince Edward Island.

Remarks: Cooler conditions can be expected along parts of the coast.
