Shelburne County

Wind warning for

Shelburne County continued

Wind gusts to 100 km/h are expected along the coast today.

This is a warning that potentially damaging winds are expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system will track up the Eastern United States seaboard today to lie over the gulf of Maine by this evening. A mixed bag of precipitation and strong winds will affect the province today ahead of this low.

The precipitation will begin over southwestern regions as rain this morning. As the rain progresses northeast this afternoon temperatures will begin to fall bringing a mixture of rain snow and ice pellets over most regions. The precipitation is expected to change to rain this evening then taper off by midnight.

Over southwestern regions of the province the precipitation will be mainly rain throughout the event. Total amounts of 25 millimetres are forecast for the coastal sections of the southwestern shore and rainfall warnings are in effect. Further inland rainfall amounts are expected to be much less due to the mixing with snow during the afternoon.

Over southwestern regions strong southeast winds will develop this afternoon and spread east this evening. Winds will gust to 80 km/h over most regions and gust to 100 km/h along the coast of Shelburne and Queens counties.

Also Les Suetes winds are expected to develop ahead of this low over the Cape Breton Highlands. Wind gusts to 140 km/h are forecast to begin later tonight.

Rainfall amounts of 25 millimetres are expected today.

This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system will track up the Eastern United States seaboard today to lie over the gulf of Maine by this evening. A mixed bag of precipitation and strong winds will affect the province today ahead of this low.

Snowfall warning for

Prince County P.E.I. continued

This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system will track up the Eastern United States seaboard today to lie over the gulf of Maine this evening and Prince Edward Island Saturday morning. Snow ahead of this system will develop late this afternoon then turn to rain near midnight. Total snowfall accumulations near 15 centimetres are expected. On Saturday showers will change to flurries near noon and further snowfall amounts are possible.

Fredericton and Southern York County continued

15 to 30 cm snowfall expected by Saturday morning.

This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system tracking northeastward will pass near Cape Cod today then into the Bay of Fundy tonight. It will move over the gulf of saint lawrence Saturday. Precipitation ahead of this system will begin as rain mixed with snow. The precipitation will change to snow at times heavy as the system nears. 15 to 30 cm is expected with this system. The snow will change back to rain across southeastern sections of the province overnight tonight then back to flurries in its wake later overnight or Saturday morning.
