Rainfall warning for
Halifax County - east of Porters Lake continued

Up to 30 millimetres of rain is expected by Saturday morning.

A low pressure system over the Eastern United States will track northeastward to lie over Southern New Brunswick by this evening. The low will then move to lie east of Cape Breton Island by Saturday evening. Snow has begun over Southern Nova Scotia and will spread to northern sections by this afternoon. The snow will change through ice pellets and freezing rain before it changes to rain. 30 millimetres of rainfall is expected over southwestern and Atlantic coastal sections of Nova Scotia by Saturday morning.

Strong southeast winds associated with this low pressure system will gust up to 110 km/h from Margaree Harbour to bay St. Lawrence beginning late this evening. These winds should diminish near dawn on Saturday.
