THURSDAY MORNING...

* WINDS...SOUTH 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 65 MPH.

* TIMING...LATE TONIGHT THROUGH MIDDAY THURSDAY.

* IMPACTS...WINDS COULD CAUSE DOWNED TREES AND BRANCHES TO SNAP
  WITH NUMEROUS POWER OUTAGES POSSIBLE. BLOWN DOWN DEBRIS MAY
  BLOCK SOME ROADWAYS. MINOR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO BUILDINGS IS
  POSSIBLE.

A HIGH WIND WATCH MEANS THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A HAZARDOUS
HIGH WIND EVENT. SUSTAINED WINDS OF AT LEAST 30 TO 40 MPH...OR
GUSTS OF 50 TO 60 MPH OR STRONGER MAY OCCUR. CONTINUE TO MONITOR

Wind warning for
Queens County P.E.I. continued

Southwesterly winds gusting to 90 km/h expected tonight and Thursday.

This is a warning that potentially damaging winds are expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system developing over the Great Lakes region will intensify as it moves toward Southern Quebec today and then Labrador on Thursday. Strong south to southwest winds will develop across pei tonight with gusts to 90 km/h expected.

Mixed precipitation are expected today across the province however it will not be persistent. More sustained rain or showers are expected on Thursday however rainfall amounts should remain below warning criteria.

Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County issued

Southwesterly winds gusting to 90 km/h expected tonight and Thursday.

This is a warning that potentially damaging winds are expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system developing over the Great Lakes region will intensify as it moves toward Southern Quebec today and then Labrador on Thursday. Strong south to southwest winds will develop across Nova Scotia tonight with gusts to 90 km/h expected across most of the mainland and 110 km/h over the trantramar marsh area. Les Suetes will develop along the Highlands this evening and the very strong southerly winds will spread across the rest of Cape Breton on Thursday.

Mixed precipitation including a risk of freezing rain are expected today across the province however it will not be persistent. More sustained rain is expected on Thursday however rainfall amounts should remain below warning criteria.
