* AT 939 AM EDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR CONTINUED TO INDICATE
LIGHT TO OCCASIONALLY HEAVY RAIN FALLING ACROSS MUCH OF WASHINGTON
COUNTY. THIS RAIN IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH THE REST OF THIS
MORNING BEFORE MOVING INTO NEW BRUNSWICK THIS AFTERNOON. LOCAL LAW
ENFORCEMENT REPORTS WATER IS STARTING TO COME ACROSS SOME ROADS.
WHILE NO ROADS ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED, CLOSURES MAY BECOME NECESSARY
DUE TO ADDITIONAL RAINFALL.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.

Rainfall warning for
Richmond County continued
30 to 40 millimetres of rain expected today and tonight.
This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.
A trough of low pressure approaching from the west will cross Nova Scotia today and tonight. Rain at times heavy will slowly spread from west to east today and tonight. The rain will end early this evening west and near noon Thursday east. Rainfall amounts of 30 to 40 millimetres are forecast for most of Mainland Nova Scotia and Western Cape Breton.
