THE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS OF WESTERN MAINE THROUGH 8 AM
SUNDAY...
.TWENTY FOUR HOUR RAINFALL AMOUNTS ENDING AT 8 AM THIS MORNING
HAVE RANGED FROM HALF AN INCH TO ONE AND A HALF INCHES ACROSS
NORTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE AND THE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS OF WESTERN
MAINE. HOWEVER...FOR THE PAST FEW DAYS TOTAL AMOUNTS HAVE BEEN
SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER... 2 TO 3 INCHES OR MORE. ANOTHER INCH OF
RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED OVER THESE AREAS OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS
THROUGH 8 AM SUNDAY. SOME AREAS COULD SEE LOCAL AMOUNTS OF 1 1/2
TO MAYBE 2 INCHES OF RAIN OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS. THIS AMOUNT OF
RAIN WILL CAUSE SIGNIFICANT RISES ON RIVERS AND STREAMS WITH THE
POTENTIAL FOR MINOR FLOODING.

THAT STREAMS ARE OUT THEIR BANKS BETWEEN CALAIS AND CHARLOTTE...BUT
ARE NOT CURRENTLY FLOODING ANY ROADS. AT 122 PM EDT A NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE WEATHER SPOTTER OBSERVED SOME MINOR FLOODING ON
SMITH RIDGE ROAD IN THE VICINITY OF BLANCHARD CORNER AND STATION
ROAD NEAR CHARLOTTE. BOTH ROADS ARE PASSABLE.
AT 1106 AM EDT A WEATHER SPOTTER IN CHARLOTTE REPORTED THAT SOME OF
THE STREAMS BETWEEN CHARLOTTE AND PEMBROKE ARE OUT OF THEIR BANKS.
A WEATHER SPOTTER IN WHITING REPORTED 4.11 INCHES OF RAIN AS OF 1115
AM. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES HAVE BEEN REPORTED ACROSS
MUCH OF SOUTHERN WASHINGTON COUNTY.
PERIODS OF RAIN ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE AREA TODAY. ADDITIONAL
RAINFALL OF UP TO ONE HALF OF AN INCH IS EXPECTED...AND THIS RAIN
WILL BE FALLING ON TOP OF ALREADY SATURATED GROUND. MINOR FLOODING
OF SMALLER STREAMS AND LOWLANDS IS EXPECTED.
