Second Late July Rainstorm Update Four

Acadian Peninsula

Rainfall warning for
Acadian Peninsula continued

Rainfall amounts of 50 to possibly 70 millimetres are possible for much of New Brunswick except southeast regions.

This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system east of Cape Cod will approach New Brunswick today and is expected to move across the province on Saturday. A slow moving warm front ahead of this system has already begun to spread rain over southern regions of the province. Although there is still some uncertainty in how this scenario will unfold it now looks likely that much of New Brunswick will see anywhere from 40 to 70 millimetres of rain by the time the rain tapers off on Saturday. Locally amounts could exceed 90 millimetres, especially in thundershowers. Southeast regions of the province should see lesser total rainfall amounts generally in the 30 to 45 millimetre range.
