Heavy Rainfall Warnings issues for Eastern Nova Scotia

Rainfall warning for
Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County issued

Rainfall amounts of 35 to 60 millimetres expected by early in the day Friday.

This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system currently south of Nova Scotia will slowly track northeastward tonight to lie just south of Cape Breton Friday morning. Rain from this system with be heaviest this evening and overnight tonight over eastern regions of the province whereas western regions will seen little to no precipitation. The rain will taper to isolated showers on Friday as the low continues eastward.

Rainfall amounts of 35 to 60 millimetres are expected by early in the day Friday for the above mentioned regions however western portions of Antigonish and Guysborough counties could see significantly lower amounts of 10 to 20 millimetres.
