Special weather statement for:
      Mainland Nova Scotia
      Cape Breton.

Very windy, wet and mild day expected on Friday.

==discussion==
A low pressure system over the Great Lakes will intensify as it
tracks northeastward into Quebec on Friday as a large fall storm that
will impact much of the Eastern Canada.  Rain is expected to begin
over Nova Scotia this evening and will likely be heaviest Friday
morning and afternoon.  General rainfall amounts of 15 to 30
millimetres are expected across much of the province.

Southerly winds will also strengthen tonight and will become very
strong on Friday with gusts in the 70-80 km/h range - severe gusts to
90 km/h are expected in the Tantramar Marsh area and also to the Lee
of the Cape Breton Highlands.  Localized gusts may reach the warning
criteria of 90 km/h along other coastal areas.  These winds could
potentially cause damage to some tree limbs and cause power
disruptions.  Rainfall could cause localized flooding especially
where drainage is impeded by fallen leaves or wind blown debris.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as
warnings may be required or extended.
