At Bangor, the aveage temperature of 39 degrees was 2.1 degrees Above normal. The total of 2.26 inches was tied at 12th driest with 1981.
The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for December calls for an increased likelihood of above normal temperatures across northern and eastern Maine. There are no strong climate signals that would point toward an unsually wet (snowy) or dry month.
The average temperatures continue to drop rapidly during the month of December. At Caribou (Bangor), the average highs fall from 32 (39) on the 1st to 22 (29) by the end of the month.
