Lake George fire engulfs forest land

Fire department in Annapolis Valley communities and Natural Resources Department are at fire scene

Firefighters from Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia departments and the Department of Natural Resources are battling a blaze near Lake George tonight.

The Aylesford and District Volunteer Fire Department got a call at 4:09 p.m. about the fire which has engulfed an unknown amount of forest land on the shores of the Kings County lake, said Wayne
Atwater, who's with the department.

No homes or cottages have been damaged or destroyed, he said.

 

Firefighters from Aylesford, Kingston, Kentville, Middleton and Waterville were called to the scene, he said.
