Special weather statement in effect for:
Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
A area of rain is expected to make its way towards western Nova Scotia Saturday night and continue across the province on Sunday. At this time it looks like the highest rainfall amounts will be over southwestern Nova Scotia, with amounts possibly exceeding winter rainfall criteria of 25 mm along the Atlantic coastline.

Rainfall warning in effect for:
Fredericton and Southern York County
Heavy rain is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.
A frontal disturbance from the central United States will move northward and reach the Maritimes Saturday. Rainfall will lead to a risk of flooding Saturday night.
Snow will spread across New Brunswick tonight and Saturday morning and then change to rain during the afternoon. The rain will change back to snow over some areas early Sunday. Rainfall amounts ranging from 25 to 45 millimetres are expected.
Heavy downpours are likely to cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Don't approach washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
