Discussion.
A major winter storm tracked over Northeastern Ontario Sunday
evening bringing with it blizzard conditions, freezing rain, rain
and strong winds throughout Ontario. The eastern half of Northern

Parts of Eastern and Northeastern Ontario also saw many hours of
freezing rain which lead to ice build-up on surfaces. Strong winds
also developed throughout Southern Ontario on Sunday. Several road
closures and power outages were reported.
Many warnings and advisories remain in effect as snow and blowing
snow continue to result to poor visibility and difficult travel
conditions.

indicated light to moderate lake effect snow downstream of the
Great Lakes.

for Ontario and the National Capital Region
issued by Environment Canada
at 4:14 a.m. EST Monday 25 February 2019.
Discussion.
A major winter storm tracked over Northeastern Ontario Sunday
evening bringing with it blizzard conditions, freezing rain, rain
and strong winds throughout Ontario. The eastern half of Northern
Ontario experienced the highest snowfall accumulation along with
blizzard conditions due to strong winds resulting in blowing snow.
Parts of Eastern and Northeastern Ontario also saw many hours of
freezing rain which lead to ice build-up on surfaces. Strong winds
also developed throughout Southern Ontario on Sunday. Several road
closures and power outages were reported.
Many warnings and advisories remain in effect as snow and blowing
snow continue to result to poor visibility and difficult travel
conditions.
