Rainfall warning in effect for:
Fredericton and Southern York County
A developing low pressure system over the eastern seaboard of the United States is expected to track northeastward to lie over southern Maine this evening.
Rain ahead of this low over southwestern New Brunswick will become heavy at times later today, giving near 30 mm before tapering to showers or flurries overnight. Some inland areas areas where
temperatures have remained just below zero will see freezing rain change to rain near noon as temperatures rise.
In addition, coastal regions west of Saint John may experience higher than normal water levels during high tides near noon today and midnight tonight, and there is a risk of minor flooding.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Avoid driving through water on roads. Even shallow, fast-moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle or a person away.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
