...LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOWFALL IMPACTING THE TUESDAY MORNING
COMMUTE...

.A storm system crosses south of the area Tuesday into Tuesday
night. Light accumulating snow is likely throughout the day for
the area, starting around dawn along the Massachusetts border.
Light snow will spread through southern and central New Hampshire
into southwest Maine through the late morning hours. Light snow
continues into the evening commute, then begins to decrease in
coverage and pull away to the east through the evening.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Maine, south central Maine,
southwest Maine, west central Maine, western Maine and northern New
Hampshire.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Low pressure will pass south of the region on Tuesday and provide
accumulating snow the area. 2-4 inches are possible in central and
northern areas. Snow is expected to begin until after the morning
commute, but will likely be ongoing into Tuesday evening.

Special weather statement in effect for:

Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Significant snowfall still possible for southwestern Nova Scotia on Tuesday night and Wednesday, less likely elsewhere.

Total snowfall: possibly reaching 10 cm in the southwest, with only 2 to 5 cm now expected from Halifax eastward

Locations: Atlantic coastal regions of Nova Scotia.

Time span: Tuesday evening until noon Wednesday for Yarmouth County to Halifax Metro and Halifax County West. Wednesday morning to Wednesday evening for Halifax County - East of Porters Lake to Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County.

Remarks: An approaching low pressure system is now expected to track further south of Nova Scotia than previously forecast on Tuesday night and Wednesday. Snow is still forecast to begin over southwestern Nova Scotia Tuesday afternoon and then spread eastward, reaching Cape Breton on Wednesday morning. However, total snowfall is now only expected to approach 10 cm over the South Shore from Yarmouth to Lunenburg Counties.

Due to the uncertainty which remains in the forecast track, the snowfall forecast may be revised as the system approaches. In any case, this snowfall event has the potential to create difficult driving conditions in some areas during the Wednesday morning commute.
