Excessive Heat Warnings Issued For Central New Brunswick & Central Nova Scotia

Heat Warning in effect for:
Hants County
Warm and humid weather expected for the next few days.
Time span: today through Tuesday.
Maximum temperatures: 29 to 31 degrees Celsius (Humidex 34 to 38).
Minimum temperatures: 16 to 18 degrees Celsius.
Locations: Queens, Lunenburg, Annapolis, Kings, Hants, Cumberland, and northern Colchester Counties.
Remarks: A warm and humid airmass is expected to affect Nova Scotia today through Tuesday. Maximum daytime temperatures are forecast to reach 29 to 31 all three days, especially inland away from the coast. Humidex values are expected to be highest on Monday, reaching as high as 38. A slightly cooler day is expected on Wednesday.
Extreme heat affects everyone.
The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
Shade yourself with an umbrella or a wide-brimmed hat.
Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.

Humidex values reaching 36 are expected for the next 2 days.
A period of very warm and humid weather is expected starting today.
Time span: today through Tuesday.
Maximum temperatures 28 to 31 Celsius (Humidex 34 to 38).
Locations: South, Central and Eastern New Brunswick
Remarks: A warm air mass will bring hot and humid conditions today and early this week. Temperatures are forecast to turn cooler over all areas on Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to be cooler near the Fundy coast.
