...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY
AFTERNOON...
The National Weather Service in Caribou has issued a
* Flood Watch for portions of Coastal DownEast Maine and
Interior DownEast Maine, including the following areas, in
Coastal DownEast Maine, Coastal Hancock and Coastal
Washington. In Interior DownEast Maine, Central Washington.
* From Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.
* Rainfall of 2 to 2.5 inches is expected across the area Saturday
afternoon through Sunday morning. This comes on the heels of an
event earlier this week that produced from 2 to 5 inches of rain
across the area. Soils are already saturated, and this
additional rainfall will likely cause already high streams and
creeks to overflow their banks. It is possible that some roads
could become flooding and impassable.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Gray ME
726 PM EST Fri Dec 4 2020
...HEAVY SNOW POSSIBLE THIS WEEKEND...
.Low pressure will intensify as it tracks near Cape Cod on
Saturday. As it does so it will spread rain and snow across
northern New England. Rain changes to snow as colder air gets
pulled into the storm during the day Saturday, with snow making
it all the way to the coast. Significant snowfall accumulations
are expected for parts of the area. A heavy, wet snow will stick
efficiently to trees which could cause downed branches and power
outages.

Rainfall warning in effect for:
Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick
Rain, at times heavy, is expected. The ground, already near saturation, has little ability to absorb further rainfall.
Significant rainfall is expected late Saturday into Sunday.
Total rainfall: 40 to 60 mm.
Locations: southern New Brunswick.
Time span: beginning Saturday afternoon and tapering off throughout the day Sunday.
Remarks: Rain, at times heavy, is expected on the weekend. Rainfall amounts may be lower than the standard criteria for a rainfall warning; however, the saturated ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall. Significant pooling and runoff are likely to occur.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to NBstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #NBStorm.
