...SNOW WILL CONTINUE WITH RATES AS HIGH AS 2 TO 5 INCHES PER
HOUR AT TIMES IN A FEW AREAS WITH NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS...

.Low pressure will track northeastward off the Mid Atlantic coast
to a position just southeast of Cape Cod by afternoon. Snow will
continue across the region, with locally heavy snowbands producing
snowfall rates of 2 to 4 inches per hour in some locations, mostly
over southern locations. The falling snow coupled with gusty
winds will produce near whiteout conditions at times. The snow
will taper off and gradually end this afternoon as low pressure
shifts further offshore.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 5
  inches for a storm total of 5 to 9 inches. Winds gusting as
  high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Maine.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing
  snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
  conditions could impact the evening commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Snowfall warning in effect for:

Grand Manan and Coastal Charlotte County
Significant snowfall continues today and tonight.

Total snowfall amounts: 15 to 20 cm.

Locations: Grand Manan and Coastal Charlotte County.

Time span: today, and into this evening.

Remarks: Snow will persist into this evening. The heaviest snow will be confined to Grand Manan where up to 20 cm is possible. Areas a little further to the north such as Campobello Island could see close to 15 cm of snowfall as well. Conditions will improve on Friday morning.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
