...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY
MORNING...
The Flood Watch continues for
* Portions of Central Highlands, Far Eastern, Far Northern, and
North Woods Maine., including the following areas, in Central
Highlands Maine, Central Piscataquis, Northern Penobscot and
Southern Piscataquis. In Far Eastern Maine, Southeast Aroostook.
In Far Northern Maine, Northeast Aroostook and Northwest
Aroostook. In North Woods Maine, Northern Piscataquis and Northern
Somerset.
* From this evening through Friday morning.
* Warm temperatures and heavy rainfall will lead to rapid snowmelt
across the area. This will cause rivers to rise and ice to move.
This may lead to ice jam flooding along the Aroostook and Saint
John Rivers with flooding along the Piscataquis River also
possible.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Maine, south central Maine,
southwest Maine, west central Maine, western Maine, New Hampshire,
central New Hampshire, northern New Hampshire and southern New
Hampshire.
.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.
A period of moderate rain is expected tonight. This will combine with
snow melt to bring rises on area rivers. A few rivers may approach
flood stage as a result.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.
Although rain comes to an end on Thursday, water levels will continue
to be high on area rivers. If any rivers make it to flood stage, then
flooding could continue into Thursday.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation is not expected at this time.

Special weather statement in effect for:
Fredericton and Southern York County
Significant rainfall is expected.
Total rainfall: likely exceeding 25 mm except greater than 50 mm over southwestern parts of the province.
Locations: most of New Brunswick.
Time span: Thursday morning to Friday afternoon.
Remarks: Rain at times heavy will begin early Thursday morning across most of western and southern New Brunswick and persist well into Friday for eastern regions. Total rainfall amounts in excess of 25 millimetres can be expected. Rainfall warnings are now in effect for southwestern parts of the province where total amounts could exceed 50 millimetres.

Special weather statement in effect for:
Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
A prolonged period of rain at times heavy is likely.
Total rainfall: more than 50 mm.
Locations: Atlantic coastal counties in Nova Scotia from Digby County to Guysborough County.
Time span: Thursday and Friday, likely into Saturday for eastern counties.
Remarks: Rain at times heavy will likely begin in southwestern Nova Scotia Thursday morning and then spread eastward reaching eastern Nova Scotia by Thursday evening. This rain is expected to persist over most of Nova Scotia well into Friday and indications show it could persist into Saturday over eastern parts of the province. Total amounts in excess of 50 millimetres of rain are possible over these areas, potentially even higher over eastern regions.

Rainfall warning in effect for:
Saint John and County
Rain, heavy at times is expected.
Total rainfall: 30 to 40 mm, with additional amounts expected Thursday night into Friday.
Locations: southwestern New Brunswick.
Time span: Thursday morning into Friday.
Remarks: A slow moving low pressure system is expected to bring rain to New Brunswick on Thursday and continuing into Friday. Total rainfall is likely to exceed 50 mm through the event.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
