...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM EDT
WEDNESDAY...
...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IS CANCELLED...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 100 expected.

* WHERE...In New Hampshire, Strafford, Interior Rockingham and
  Coastal Rockingham Counties. In Maine, Interior York and
  Coastal York Counties.

* WHEN...From noon to 8 PM EDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses to occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Dangerous heat and humidity is expected to
  continue into Thursday and Friday. In addition to heat index
  values between 95 and 105, low temperatures are not likely to
  fall below 70 degrees during the overnights.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.

Heat Warning in effect for:

Acadian Peninsula
An extended period of very warm and humid weather is expected.

Time span: today through Saturday.

Maximum daytime temperatures: 30 to 32 degrees Celsius (Humidex 35 to 39), except cooler along parts of the coast.

Minimum overnight temperatures: 18 to 20 degrees Celsius.

Locations: Bathurst and Chaleur region and the Acadian Peninsula.

Remarks: A combination of very warm temperatures and elevated humidity will create high humidex values over the next several days. Temperatures are forecast to turn cooler over all areas on Saturday night.

Warnings will likely be extended to cover most of New Brunswick over the next few days.

Extreme heat affects everyone.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.

Maximum daytime temperatures: 29 degrees Celsius (Humidex up to 35), except cooler along parts of the coast.

Minimum overnight temperatures: 16 to 20 degrees Celsius.

Locations: Annapolis, Kings, Hants, Pictou, northern Colchester and northern Cumberland counties.

Remarks: A combination of very warm temperatures and elevated humidity will create high humidex values over the next several days. Temperatures are forecast to turn cooler over all areas later on Sunday.

Warnings will likely be extended into most other regions of Nova Scotia over the next few days.

Extreme heat affects everyone.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
