Mid-January Winter Storm Update One
Rainfall warning in effect for:
Kings County P.E.I.
Rain, heavy at times is expected.
Significant rainfall is expected.
Total rainfall: Near 40 mm.
Locations: Prince Edward Island.
Time span: Starting this afternoon and persisting into Saturday.
Remarks: Snow will change to rain this afternoon. The rain will persist on Saturday for central and eastern counties but will change to freezing rain near noon over Prince County.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

Rainfall warning in effect for:
Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Heavy rain is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.
Significant rainfall is expected.
Total rainfall: 40 to 80 mm.
Locations: Mainland Nova Scotia.
Time span: today, tonight and Saturday.
Remarks: A mix of snow and rain over eastern areas of Nova Scotia will change to rain near noon or early this afternoon. Rain, at times heavy, will persist across the province on Saturday.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
