Locations: Cumberland County, Colchester County, Victoria County, and Inverness County - Mabou and North. 

Time span: Thursday morning until Thursday evening.

Remarks: Precipitation will begin as rain tonight, then transition through a period of freezing rain, ice pellets, and snow Thursday morning and afternoon. Precipitation will then taper to light snow Thursday evening.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

Total snowfall and ice pellet accumulations: near 10 cm.

Maximum wind gusts: northeast 50 km/h.

Time span: tonight into Thursday afternoon.

Similar storms in the past have caused:

- hazardous driving conditions,

- traffic delays,

- scattered utility outages.

Remarks: Rain will change to a mix of freezing rain and ice pellets early Thursday morning. The precipitation is expected to change to snow later in the morning before ending in the afternoon.

Remarks: Near noon on Thursday, a transition through freezing rain and ice pellets to snow is expected over the area before precipitation ends late Thursday afternoon.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Remarks: Precipitation will begin as rain tonight then change over to a mix of freezing rain and ice pellets Thursday morning. Precipitation will then transition into snow Thursday afternoon before tapering to flurries Thursday evening. Currently, snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 centimetres are expected but locally higher amounts are possible.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.

Another storm will pass through the area Sunday into Monday, and

could bring another round of snow which could mix with rain across

the north. Depending on storm track, more rain could lead to nuisance
