An intensifying trough of low pressure will approach New Brunswick
overnight tonight into Wednesday bringing with it rain and strong
southerly winds. On Thursday this trough will stall over the
Maritimes resulting in a prolonged period of unsettled weather.
The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as
warnings may be required or extended.

COASTAL FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED AS THE FORECAST HIGH TIDE AT
PORTLAND IS ONLY 10.4 FEET AT 1:35 AM. BUT SOME SPLASH OVER IS
POSSIBLE IN AREAS EXPOSED TO SOUTHERLY FLOW.

* COASTAL FLOODING...COASTAL FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED. THE HIGH
TIDE AT PORTLAND IS FORECAST TO REACH 10.4 FEET. SOME STORM
SURGE WILL ALLOW WATER LEVELS TO REACH AS HIGH AS 11.5 FEET WITH
SOME SPLASH OVER. THE GREATEST THREAT AREAS WILL BE ALONG THE
MIDCOAST OF MAINE AND AREAS EXPOSED TO SOUTHERLY FLOW.
* TIMING...HIGH TIDE IN PORTLAND IS AT 1:35 AM. THE GREATEST
THREAT WILL OCCUR NEAR THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE.
* IMPACTS...SOME SPLASH OVER IS POSSIBLE IN AREAS EXPOSED TO
SOUTHERLY FLOW. FUNNELING OF WATER INTO SOUTHWARD FACING BAYS
WILL ALLOW WATER LEVELS TO PILE UP MOST AT THE NORTHERN ENDS OF
