* PRECIPITATION TYPE...SNOW AND FREEZING RAIN.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF UP TO 1 INCH...ALONG WITH
  AROUND A TRACE OF ICE.

* TIMING...UNTIL MID MORNING.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE MID 30S.

Rainfall warning for
Halifax Metro and Halifax County West continued

This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected tonight in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system over the Great Lakes will move eastward to lie near New England on Saturday. Rain at times heavy ahead of the system is expected to begin late this afternoon over extreme Southwest Nova Scotia and spread northeastward this evening. Total rainfall amounts near 30 millimetres are expected by Saturday morning.

It should also be noted that a brief period of snow is possible for the Cobequid Pass area of Cumberland County late this evening before a changeover to rain near midnight.

The low pressure system will also bring strengthening southeast winds over the Maritimes tonight. Over Cape Breton southeast winds..Les Suetes..are expected to gust to near 100 km/h before dawn Saturday and to near 120 km/h Saturday morning.

Rainfall warning for
St. Stephen and Northern Charlotte County continued

Rainfall amounts of 25 millimetres are expected by Saturday morning.

This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system over the Great Lakes will move eastward and lie near New England on Saturday. Rain ahead of this system will begin over Southern New Brunswick this afternoon with amounts near 25 millimetres by Saturday morning. Over northern sections of New Brunswick, the precipitation will begin as snow and changeover to ice pellets or freezing rain for a couple of hours before finally changing to rain. Snowfall amounts are expected to reach near 10 centimetres for most of northern sections. The heaviest precipitation will taper off to showers Saturday morning as the warm front moves out into the Gulf of St Lawrence.

Winds will also gust up to 80 km/h along the Fundy coastline tonight, but will subside with the passage of the front early Saturday morning.
