Winter storm warning for
Campbellton and eastern half of Restigouche County continued
Snow and blowing snow has begun in the southwest and will spread to the northeast by this evening. Total snowfall amounts of up to 30 centimetres can be expected.
A low pressure system currently near Long Island is forecast to track into the Gulf of Maine tonight and then into the Southern Gulf of St. Lawrence on Friday.
Snow ahead of the low has begun over Southwestern New Brunswick and will spread throughout by this evening. Snow will taper off from west to east on Friday as the low moves slowly away. Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 30 centimetres are expected over most areas. Over Southern New Brunswick the snow will be mixed with ice pellets and then change to or mix with rain later today and tonight. For Grand Manan rainfall amounts are forecast to be near 40 millimetres.
Strong easterly winds are forecast to develop today as the low approaches the Maritimes. These winds will be particularly strong over Grand Manan and Coastal Charlotte County where gusts to 90 km/h are expected.
The snow and strong winds will combine to produce blowing snow giving reduced visibilities.

A low pressure system southwest of the Maritimes will slowly track east northeastward today and tonight crossing Nova Scotia on Friday.
This will spread snow and strong winds into Prince Edward Island this evening. Total snowfall amounts of near 15 centimetres is expected for Prince County by early Friday. Strong easterly winds will give locally reduced visibilities in blowing snow.
