A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT
FROM 11 AM THURSDAY TO 7 AM EST FRIDAY.
* LOCATIONS...NORTHERN AND EAST CENTRAL MAINE.
* PRECIPITATION TYPE...SNOW.
* ACCUMULATIONS...12 TO 16 INCHES OF SNOW.
* TIMING...LATE THURSDAY MORNING INTO FRIDAY MORNING.
* TEMPERATURES...IN THE 20S.
* WINDS...NORTHEAST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH.
* IMPACTS...HIGH IMPACT. HEAVY SNOW AND GUSTY WINDS WILL CREATE
VERY HAZARDOUS TRAVELING CONDITIONS. OCCASIONAL BLOWING AND

Wind warning for
Grand Manan and Coastal Charlotte County continued
Strong easterly winds gusting to 90 km/h are expected to develop Thursday afternoon and persist through the evening. This is a warning that potentially damaging winds are expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.
A low pressure system developing south of the Great Lakes is forecast to lie near Cape Cod Thursday evening and then move across Nova Scotia on Friday. Snow ahead of the low will begin Thursday morning over Southwestern New Brunswick and then spread to other areas by Thursday evening. Snow will taper off from west to east on Friday as the low moves away. Snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 centimeters are forecast by midnight Thursday over southern and parts of Central New Brunswick with lesser amounts elsewhere. However more snow can be expected over most areas overnight and into Friday and warnings may be required.
Also strong easterly winds are expected to develop on Thursday as the low approaches the Maritimes. These winds are forecast to gust to 90 km/h over Grand Manan and Coastal Charlotte County. As a result a wind warning has been issued. The public is advised to monitor future forecasts as more warnings may be required.
