Special weather statement for:
      Acadian Peninsula
      Bathurst and Chaleur region
      Kent County
      Kouchibouguac National Park
      Miramichi and area
      Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick.

      Potential for significant snowfall tonight and Monday.
      Strong winds on Monday could give extensive blowing snow over
      Exposed areas.

A developing low pressure system south of the Maritimes today will 
intensify rapidly as it tracks northward into the Gulf of St.
Lawrence on Monday.

Generally 5 to as much as 15 centimetres of snow are forecast over 
Southern and Eastern New Brunswick by Monday evening.  A shift in the 
track of the low to the west would give higher snowfall amounts on 
Monday.  There is potential for snow and wind to cause extensive 
blowing and drifting snow over exposed areas on Monday.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as 
warnings may be required or extended.

Wind warning for 

Acadian Peninsula issued

This is a warning that potentially damaging 
winds are expected in this region. Monitor weather conditions..listen for 
updated statements.

A developing low pressure system approaching from 
south of Nova Scotia today will intensify rapidly as it tracks northward through 
the Eastern Gulf of St. Lawrence on Monday.

Strong westerly winds will 
develop over Eastern New Brunswick on Monday with gusts to 90 km/h expected 
later in the day over the Acadian Peninsula. Winds gusting to 70 km/h are 
expected in other eastern areas of New Brunswick. These winds are expected to 
give local blowing and drifting snow over exposed areas along the New Brunswick 
East Coast.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and 
warnings as warnings may be required or extended.
