A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM FROM THE GREAT LAKES MERGED WITH ANOTHER LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM WHICH DEVELOPED ALONG THE EASTERN SEABOARD OF THE
UNITED STATES. THE MAIN LOW PRESSURE CENTER PASSED JUST SOUTH OF
NOVA SCOTIA SATURDAY NIGHT THEN CROSSED CAPE BRETON SUNDAY MORNING
AND THEN OVER THE GULF OF ST. LAWRENCE SUNDAY AFTERNOON. SNOW BEGAN
OVER THE PROVINCE SATURDAY AFTERNOON OVER WESTERN REGIONS AND
SATURDAY NIGHT OVER EASTERN REGIONS OF THE
PROVINCE.
THE FOLLOWING IS A SUMMARY OF SNOWFALL AMOUNTS RECEIVED BY
ENVIRONMENT CANADA AS OF 12:00 P.M. ADT SUNDAY.

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM DEVELOPED ALONG THE EASTERN SEABOARD OF THE
UNITED STATES ON FRIDAY AND BEGAN TRACKING NORTHEASTWARD. THE LOW
PASSED JUST SOUTH OF NOVA SCOTIA SATURDAY NIGHT THEN CROSSED CAPE
BRETON SUNDAY MORNING TO LIE OVER THE GULF OF ST. LAWRENCE THIS
AFTERNOON. SNOW BEGAN OVER THE PROVINCE SATURDAY AFTERNOON THEN
CHANGED QUICKLY TO RAIN OVER SOUTHERN AND EASTERN REGIONS BY
SATURDAY EVENING. THE PRECIPITATION REMAINED AS SNOW OVER THE
VALLEY AND NORTHERN REGIONS OF NOVA SCOTIA.
