...A Nor`easter will bring heavy snow later Wednesday night into
Thursday...
.The storm will bring a heavy band of snow into the Down East
region and Bangor area late Wednesday night into Thursday morning
with snowfall rates of 1 to 3 inches an hour and wind gusts as
high as 50 mph along the coast. The band will move northward
though the forecast area on Thursday and gradually weaken.

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 12 to
16 inches, with localized amounts up to 23 inches, are
expected.
* WHERE...Northern Somerset, Northern Piscataquis, Northern
Penobscot, Southeast Aroostook and Central Piscataquis
Counties.
* WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to 7 AM EST Friday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel will be very difficult to
impossible, including during the morning commute on Thursday.
Be prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times.

Special weather statement in effect for:
Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick
Significant snowfall likely on Thursday into Friday and again Friday into Saturday.
A low pressure system will approach New Brunswick from the southwest today and Thursday. Snow will
spread into the province tonight into Thursday and possibly into Friday. The snow will likely change to rain
over the southern half of the province Thursday afternoon or evening. Significant snowfall amounts are
likely over much of the province with total snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 centimetres possible over
northeastern regions.
A second system late on Friday will spread snow into the province from the east, initially mixed with some
rain. The snowfall may persist into the weekend, giving significant snowfall amounts especially over
northeastern sections.

Queens County P.E.I.
Snow on Thursday with more likely Friday into Saturday.
A low pressure system will approach Prince Edward Island on Thursday. Snow will develop near noon
Thursday and taper off to flurries Thursday evening. Snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 centimetres are expected.
On Friday a second system will pass south of Nova Scotia. Snow will redevelop across the island Friday
afternoon and persist into Saturday. Snowfall amounts could possibly exceed 15 centimetres with this
second system.

Snowfall warning in effect for:
Fredericton and Southern York County
Snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.
Snow expected tonight into Thursday and again on Friday and Saturday.
A low pressure system will approach Nova Scotia tonight. Snow will develop over New Brunswick from the
southwest overnight tonight and reach the northeast by Thursday morning. Snowfall amounts over
southwestern sections are expected to reach 15-20 centimetres by Thursday evening.
The precipitation will taper off in the south to showers or flurries by Friday morning. However in the north
snow will continue overnight into Friday, possibly requiring snowfall warnings to be extended northwards.
Later on Friday into Saturday a second disturbance will spread snow in from the east, initially mixed with a
little rain. Snowfall amounts with this second system are not expected to be significant at this time.
Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. There may be a significant impact on rush hour
traffic in urban areas.
Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

Special weather statement in effect for:
Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Snow expected tonight into Thursday and again on Friday and Saturday.
A low pressure system will approach Nova Scotia tonight. Snow will develop tonight over southwestern
portions of the province and spread eastward on Thursday. A changeover to rain showers is expected on
Thursday for western and central areas of the province, but the snow is expected to persist over easternmost
sections before tapering off to flurries or rain showers Thursday night.
Generally 5 to 10 centimetres is expected tonight and Thursday with possibly up to 15 centimetres over the
Halifax and Lunenburg areas.
Rain will redevelop on Friday then change to snow Friday night and into Saturday as another low
approaches the province from the southeast. Further significant snowfall amounts are possible with the
second system on Friday and Saturday with amounts possibly exceeding 15 centimetres for eastern portions
of the province.
