Storm surge warning in effect for:

Guysborough County
Strong northeasterly winds will develop tonight and persist into Thursday bringing higher than normal water levels with large waves near the coast during high tide tonight.

Coastal flooding is possible along the shoreline. High waves combined with the surge may cause damage along the coast.

Storm surge warnings are issued when water levels pose a threat to coastal regions.
