Special weather statement in effect for:

Stanley - Doaktown - Blackville Area
Snow followed by freezing rain is expected Sunday night over parts of northwestern New Brunswick.

A developing low pressure system will track across southern New Brunswick Sunday night to lie over the Gulf of St. Lawrence by Monday morning. Snow ahead of this system will begin over western and northwestern New Brunswick Sunday afternoon and is expected to transition through ice pellets to freezing rain, or freezing drizzle, throughout Sunday night. Further south, from Woodstock and Carleton County, to Stanley - Doaktown and Blackville area, a changeover to rain is expected during Sunday evening.

At this time between 10 to 15 cm of snow is expected over northwestern New Brunswick prior to the changeover to freezing rain Sunday night. Further south, significantly less snowfall accumulation is expected by Sunday evening prior to the changeover to freezing rain and then eventually to rain.

There remains some uncertainty with the duration of the freezing rain as it tracks through western and northwestern New Brunswick. Warnings may be issued as new information becomes available.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to NBstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #NBStorm.
