...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO
3 PM EST WEDNESDAY...
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches
expected.
* WHERE...Central Washington and Coastal Washington Counties.
* WHEN...From 11 PM this evening to 3 PM EST Wednesday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The
hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Power
outages are possible.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads
and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

The following message is transmitted at the request of the Forest
Service Mount Washington Avalanche Center, Gorham NH.
The US Forest Service Mount Washington Avalanche Center has issued
a backcountry avalanche watch. This avalanche watch does not
apply to operating ski areas.
* TIMING...In effect from 1100 AM EST Tuesday, Jan 29 to 1100 AM
EST Thursday Jan 31, 2019
* AFFECTED AREA...The Presidential Range forecast area. Avalanche
Watch criteria may be met in other areas outside those forecast
by the avalanche center.
* AVALANCHE DANGER...The avalanche danger will increase from early
Wednesday through Thursday, January 30-31, 2019 creating
dangerous avalanche conditions on and below slopes steeper than
30 degrees. Widespread natural avalanche activity will be
possible, especially late Wednesday into Thursday.
* REASON/IMPACTS... A winter storm arrives the evening of January
29 bringing heavy snowfall that will combine with wind to create
unstable conditions in many areas. Increasing west winds on
Wednesday, January 30 will increase likelihood for large
avalanches into Thursday, January 31.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Backcountry travelers should plan on rapidly changing conditions.
Extra caution is required if planning a trip into avalanche
terrain. Backcountry travel will become very dangerous.
Similar avalanche danger may exist at locations outside the
coverage area of this or any avalanche center.
