Wind warning in effect for:
Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.
An intense low pressure system over New England will approach the Maritimes today and cross the region on Friday. A band of very strong easterly winds will spread across New Brunswick today. Over areas near the coast these winds are forecast to gust to 90 km/h.
Winds will diminish by this evening and become southerly.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

Storm surge warning in effect for:
Acadian Peninsula
Higher than normal water levels with large waves are expected near the coast.
An intense low pressure system over New England will approach the Maritimes today and cross the region on Friday.
Very strong easterly winds and heavy surf ahead of the low will result in high water levels along the coast during high tide this evening. These conditions will give coastal flooding and potential erosion to beaches and damage to infrastructure.
Coastal flooding is possible along the shoreline. Coastal erosion is possible in vulnerable areas. People close to the shoreline should stay on the lookout for worsening conditions.
Storm surge warnings are issued when water levels pose a threat to coastal regions.

Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County
An intense low pressure system over New England will approach the Maritimes today and cross the region on Friday.
A band of very strong southeasterly winds gusting to 90 km/h will spread across Nova Scotia today, starting in the southwest early this morning, and reaching the eastern Mainland and Cape Breton this afternoon. Higher than normal water levels and heavy surf can be expected along the Atlantic coast and areas near Northumberland Strait today, especially near high tide.
Winds will diminish and become southerly later today, starting in the southwest near noon and over eastern areas later this afternoon or this evening.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

An intense low pressure system over New England will approach the Maritimes today and cross the region on Friday. A band of very strong easterly winds gusting to 90 km/h will spread across Prince Edward Island this afternoon.
Winds will diminish early this evening and become southerly.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Gusty winds can damage soft shelters, tents and awnings at outdoor events. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.
