Wind warning in effect for:

Inverness County - south of Mabou
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Maximum wind gusts: 100 km/h

Location: coastal areas of Western Cape Breton

Time span: this afternoon

Remarks: strong southerly winds will develop this afternoon over western Cape Breton as a cold front approaches. Wind gusts as high as 100 km/h are expected over parts of the coast.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
